M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D.
With more than twenty years of teaching experience, Ruchi Kaushik specializes in Materials Production and Teacher Training in English Language Teaching (ELT). She is Professor of English at Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi where she teaches courses on Communication, English Language and Literature. Her PhD thesis is on designing needs-based learning materials for commerce undergraduates and she has been actively involved in curriculum development and materials production projects at Delhi University, IGNOU and NCERT. In 2013, she co-authored the book Language, Literature and Creativity (Orient Blackswan) and in 2014 authored another one titled Listening and Speaking XI (Cambridge University Press). Her latest publication is her co-edited book Critical Issues in ELT (Aakaar, 2022). She has published research articles in various journals and books and also presented papers in national and international conferences. She was awarded the US State Department Individual Award to visit Maryland, and present a paper titled “Designing Games for Language Gains: Enhancing Speaking Skills among Learners” at the 50th TESOL 2016 International English Language Convention. She was also one of the Delhi University delegates invited for an intensive training in Blended Learning Methodology Workshop held at the Open University, Milton Keynes in the United Kingdom (2008) under the UKIERI. Currently, she is the President of FORTELL (a pan-Indian association of Teachers of English Language and Literature that brings out the UGC Care-listed, peer-reviewed bi-annual journal Fortell where she is the Associate Editor).
