M.Com, M.Phil, Ph.D.
Prof. Rachna Jawa is a Professor in Commerce Department, SRCC. After completing her graduation from SRCC and obtaining a gold medal in M.Com from Department of Commerce, Dr. Rachna Jawa joined the college in 1992. Since then she has been teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels for nearly two and a half decades in the College. Her educational qualifications include M. Phil. from Department of Commerce and Ph.D. from FMS. Her subjects of interest include finance and advertising. She has handled various administrative and leadership roles in different capacities. She was the coordinator for GBO programme for the period 2011-2013 and the teacher-in-charge for the Commerce Department for the academic year 2015-16. She was on the Editorial Board as the co-editor of the College Journal “Business Analyst”. She also looked after the qualitative aspects of education as the Coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell functioning in the College from 2015 to 2019. She was also the Coordinator of NAAC Steering Committee in the College during its accreditation process. The role included planning, developing strategies, coordinating amongst various constituent units of the Colleges such as non-teaching staff, alumni and students, in addition to managing the peer team visit. The outcome of this concentrated effort was that the institution was accredited with an A+ grade having 3.65 CPGA, highest for all accredited constituent colleges of the University of Delhi. Additionally, she is the driving force being environmental initiatives in SRCC as the convenor of Centre for Green Initiatives at the College. She was also invited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and the Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD), Government of India to suggest improvements to the NAAC accreditation and assessment framework. Eleven recommendations were forwarded by her which were all incorporated in the subsequent revised NAAC framework. She has been actively involved in research with her research achievements including a number of articles and research papers in leading newspapers, magazines and national and international journals. She has presented several of her research papers in national and international seminars and conferences in countries such as Thailand. Her contribution to academics includes a book on “Mergers and Acquisitions” and several books on E-Marketing. She is a lifelong member of the Indian Accounting Association.
