Undergraduate Courses

The admission process in the College (SRCC) begins from the first week of JUNE every year when the University of Delhi opens admissions for different courses in the University of Delhi and its constituent colleges.   The University of Delhi releases a detailed Admission Notification indicating various dates for – sale of application forms, depositing application forms for registration in different courses, declaring cut-off lists for different courses, depositing fees etc.   The students must follow the notified dates strictly.   The College displays its Admission Notification on the College Notice Board as well as on its website for the concerned academic year in May/June.

Admission on Merit Basis

The admission process begins with the Registration by candidates.  The candidates can register themselves for the course(s) of their choice with the College by submitting a prescribed Preliminary Application Form, available from the College.  A self attested photocopy of the mark-sheet of class XII examination passed should be attached with the Application Form.   On the basis of the marks/percentage (in four best subjects) of all registered candidates with the College in concerned course, a minimum cut-off percentage for admission in that course is declared.  The cut-off percentage for admission in different courses in the College is displayed on the College Notice Board and is also made available on the College website.  No individual intimation is given to any candidate.  The registered candidates with the college who are eligible for admission on the basis of cut-off percentage must contact the College Admission Committee in person for completing admission formalities and deposit of fee within notified dates and as per instructions for the purpose.  In case any candidate fails to confirm his/her admission by completing admission formality and depositing the required fees within prescribed date(s) and time his/her name for admission stands cancelled.

Admissions under Reserved Categories

The registration of candidates for admission belonging to different categories, viz. SC and ST, as also Physically Challenged, Foreign Students, Kashmiri Migrants etc. is directly done by the University of Delhi.  Candidates seeking admission under different reserved categories should, therefore, register themselves with the University of Delhi for admission.  The University of Delhi releases the Admission Slips/Order to the eligible candidates.   Students who are issued Admission Slip/Order for SRCC must contact to the Admission Committee for admission with Admission Slip/Order in person for completing admission formalities and deposit of fee as per University guidelines/instructions and within notified dates and time.  For more details and UPDATED INFORMATION regarding admissions under different reserved categories candidates should refer to the admission notification of the University of Delhi or should contact the following offices of the University of Delhi:

Candidates belonging to OBC (Non Creamy Layer) category can register themselves either with the University by filling Common Pre-Admission Form or with the Collage by filling Preliminary Application Form, as per their choice.

Only those registered Candidates would be considered for admin under OBC (Non Creamy Layer) category whose percentage in four best subjects, as per criteria for admission fixed by the collage, is not less than 10% of the cut off percentage declared by collage for admission on merit basis.

A separate cut-of / name-wise list of eligible candidates on merit basis would be released for admission under OBC (NCL) category. The candidates would be required to submit OBC (Non Creamy Layer) certificate alongwith other necessary documents at the time of admission

Admission on Sports Basis

The College has limited (five percent) seats for admission on Sports Basis.  Candidates who wish to be considered for admission on Sports basis should register themselves with the College by submitting a prescribed Preliminary Application Form available from the College, irrespective of their application for any course on merit basis.  The candidates must paste their latest passport size photograph on the Preliminary Application Form at specified place.  Candidates should also attach self attested photocopy of their certificates, etc. in support of their credentials in Sports along with a copy of mark-sheet of class XII examination passed.

The sports admission committee after screening/evaluating the applications of registered candidates releases a list of eligible candidates for Trials in respective games.  The list is displayed on the College Notice Board on the last day notified for depositing admission forms at 10.00 a.m.  No individual intimation is given to any candidate.

Candidate with at least first, second or third position in Inter-Zonal Tournaments are considered for Trials.  The schedule of Trials for different games is displayed on the College Notice Board and is also made available on the College website.  Candidates eligible for Trials must bring all relevant certificates in original alongwith two passport size photographs at the time of appearing for trials.

On the basis of the performance of candidates in Trials in concerned Game the Sports Admission Committee recommends candidates for admission.  The selected candidates should confirm their admission by completing admission formalities and depositing the required fees within notified dates & time, and as per instructions for the purpose.

How to Obtain Prospectus & Preliminary Application Form

The College Prospectus containing Preliminary Application Form could be obtained few days before the start of Admission Process.  The candidates can purchase Prospectus from the College Office on any working day from Monday to Friday between 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.

The Prospectus can also be obtained by post/courier.   For this purpose a bank draft for Rs.150/- (Rs.500/- if required in abroad) drawn on “Shri Ram College of Commerce”, payable at Delhi should be send at following address.  Do mention your name, address, land line and mobile number(s) on the reverse of the bank draft.

How to Apply

The candidates desirous of admission in SRCC should register themselves by filling a prescribed Preliminary Application Form along with the document(s) required therewith.  The Preliminary Application Form should be deposited at the College Counter for receiving Application Forms.  The candidates will get receipt in lieu. 

The Preliminary Application form can also be send through post/courier.  A self addressed envelop should be send therewith for getting acknowledge card in lieu.

Candidates can also download the Application Form from this website and use it.   The downloaded Form should be submitted with the College as mentioned above alongwith a bank draft of Rs.150/- drawn in favour of “Shri Ram College of Commerce”, payable at Delhi.  Do mention your name, address, land line and mobile number(s) on the reverse of the bank draft.

Note

Separate Application Form should be submitted for different courses. Candidates applying under Sports Category should fill a separate form irrespective of their application for any course on merit basis.
The Preliminary Application Form should be submitted with the College, whether in person or by post, on or before the last date notified for depositing Application Form. 
No application will be received after the last date.
Incomplete Applications or Applications reaching after the last date by      post/courier will not be considered/accepted.


The students can also go for centralized registration, if they prefer, for which separate guidelines from the University of Delhi should be followed.

Admission on Merit Basis
  1. Self-attested photocopy of certificate indicating marks obtained in the qualifying examination (Class XII Marks Sheet) from the Board/Institution last attended.

  5. Self-attested photocopies of relevant sports certificates and newspaper clippings, if any.
Documents required at the time of completing Admission Formalities
  1. Fill a separate Admission Form (available from the College office).
  2. Fill University Enrolment Form (available from the College office).
  3. Three Passport size photographs.
    Self attested photocopy of following documents – (d) to (j):
  4. Detailed Marks Sheet of passing Class XII examination (Qualifying Exam.)
  5. Certificate of Date of Birth (High School Certificate – Class X).
  6. Character Certificate issued by the Head of the Institution last attended.
  7. Provisional Certificate of passing the Qualifying Examination – Class XII from the institution last attended.
  8. Migration Certificate, in case the student is from a Board/University other than Delhi.
  9. Certificate from the Head of School stating that the candidate has passed Hindi language upto class VII, in case exemption is sought for Compulsory Test in Hindi (CTH).
  10. Caste/Category certificate (if admitted under any reserved category).
  11. All certificates/documents in original as mentioned above.
