| Age |
|
The applicant must have attained the age of 17 years before 1st of October of the year in which he/she seeks admission to the first year of a degree course. However, condonation of age upto one year is done by the Vice-Chancellor on making a written application through the College. These rules are subject to revision by the University/College from time to time. |
| Compulsory Test in Hindi (CTH) |
| All students (except foreign nationals) who have not studied Hindi at all or studied upto a level lower than Class VIII are required to pass Compulsory Test in Hindi conducted by the University of Delhi. Such students should inform the College Office regarding their cases latest by August 16. However, the students who did not offer Hindi at Class X or XII level but have passed Class VIII with Hindi must submit a certificate to this effect from the Head of the School for exemption from Compulsory Test in Hindi. |

To elucidate, if a candidate in Category B has 93% marks, his/her marks are equivalent to 95% marks in Category A; and if a candidate in Category C has 90% marks, his/her marks are equivalent to 93% in Category A.
An applicant must obtain at least 70% marks in Mathematics (equivalent to CBSE 12th standard Mathematics) to be considered for admission to B.A. (Hons.) Economics I Year.
For determining the percentage of marks scored at the qualifying examination only four subjects will be counted as follows:
- English and

Three other subjects in the Commerce, Science and Humanities streams respectively, which would not include any other Language, Computer Science, Mechanical Drawing, Art, Needle-Work and Dress-Making, Cookery, Physical Education, Home Science, Music, Business Mathematics, Environmental studies and similar subjects.

As per Internal Assessment scheme (Ordinance VIII-E) of the University of Delhi 25 % of the maximum marks in each paper are assigned for following: |

Attendance |
Every student is required to attend classes. The minimum attendance required separately for lectures and tutorials is two-thirds of the total classes held during the academic session. Five percent weightage in Internal Assessment is for attendance. Students are advised to follow the attendance rules strictly. Students admitted to the College shall be required to sign an undertaking that he/she shall fulfils the minimum attendance requirements failing which the College shall have the right to take necessary action. Tutorials |
All students are required to attend tutorials classes and submit the assignments given to them on time. The marks given for these assignments are part of the internal assessment and count for 10% of marks. |

|
Home Examinations |
The College conducts internal (home) examinations every year, usually in the month of January, on the pattern of the annual university examinations, for all undergraduate students. The marks awarded in these examinations are taken into account for internal assessment with 10% weightage. |
|
| Annual Examinations | Every year University Annual Examinations are held in the month of April/May. 75% weightage in maximum marks in each paper is given to the Annual Examinations. | |
